The 2025-26 NCAA golf season was a historic one for the California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) women. The Titans won the San Diego State Classic early in the season and scored seven top-five finishes in 10 events. They also reached a program-best No. 36 national ranking and finished 10th in the NCAA Stanford Regional. Several CSUF golfers also achieved personal- and program-best scores and earned all-conference accolades.
Here’s a look at six CSUF golfers and coaches who received honors for their impressive seasons.
Davina Xanh
Davina Xanh won the Big West Golfer of the Year for the second time in three seasons. Martina Edberg is the only other Titan to win the award twice. Xanh, a senior from Weston-super-Mare, England, wrapped up her collegiate career as CSUF’s all-time leader in most top-20 finishes (35), most rounds at par or better (65), and lowest scoring average (72.51). She won an individual title in each of her four years at CSUF and recorded five top-10 finishes in 2025-26.
Xanh saved one of her best performances for last, closing out her collegiate career with a single-round program record 8-under par 63 in the second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional. Xanh also earned All-Big West First Team honors in each of her four seasons at CSUF.
Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith
Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith, a senior from Covina, California, also closed out her collegiate career with an impressive season. The 2024-25 Big West Golfer of the Year and Big West individual champion earned her second consecutive All-Big West First Team selection. She had five top-10 finishes in 2025-26 and a 72.89 scoring average.
In 2024-25, Zermeno Smith won individual titles at the Soboba Springs Classic and Big West Championship. She was also Big West Golfer of the Month in February and April.
Katharina Zeilinger
Katharina Zeilinger, a senior from Austria, also had another standout year with the Titans. She had a breakthrough year in 2024-25, earning Big West Honorable Mention, and this year was named to the All-Big West First Team alongside Zermeno Smith and Xanh. This marked the first time in program history that three Titans earned all-conference first-team honors.
Zeilinger won her first individual title in February and had a career-best 72.59 scoring average this season. She also had three other top-10 finishes in 2025-26. Kathryn Hosch, head coach of the Titans, spoke highly about the play of her three graduating seniors.
“Davina, Kaitlyn and Kathi have been here all four years. We didn’t have much to sell them on rankings or scoring average when they were being recruited,” said Hosch, speaking to CSUF media. She has coached the program for nearly a decade.
“We weren’t doing that great. But they came here on a vision and a belief that we would build something… The whole team built this from the ground up, especially by these three seniors. They were the ones that broke a lot of records. But they also helped me and the younger players to understand what the blueprint looks like to have a winning culture.”
Combined, Xanh, Zermeno Smith, and Zeilinger had 62 top-20 finishes, 42 top-10 results, and 25 top-five placings in four years at CSUF.
Zara Ali
Xanh, Zermeno Smith, and Zeilinger weren’t the only CSUF golfers to earn year-end accolades, however. Zara Ali, a junior from Leeds, England, had a career-best finish at the Big West Championship, tying for fifth place. She earned Big West Honorable Mention. She shot a 14-over par 227 to finish in 46th place at the NCAA Stanford Regional.
Kathryn Hosch
The play of CSUF’s three graduating seniors and Ali also helped Hosch earn all-conference honors. Hosch, who helped the Titans to a program record No. 36 national ranking, was named Big West Co-Coach of the Year alongside Cal Poly coach Courtney Roberts.
Hosch was named head coach of the Titans before the 2017-18 season and has now coached nine Titans to All-Big West accolades. Last season, she coached the team to its first-ever Big West Championship title and first appearance in the NCAA Regionals. Hosch is a former student-athlete, having played for the Titans in 2010-11 and 2011-12 after transferring from Mt. San Jacinto College.
Linley Ooi
Hosch wasn’t the only CSUF coach to receive recognition for the team’s success this season. Linley Ooi, an assistant coach in her second season with the team, was named to the Golf Pride Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Assistant Coach of the Year Award Watchlist. The award, created this year to honor an assistant “whose leadership, preparation, and commitment elevate their program’s performance and positively impact the student-athlete experience,” was to be announced following the Division I Women’s NCAA Championship.
